Dandelion - "Dandy"
Dandy is a dappled palomino covered in a thousand little wishes! She has a heart of gold and loves to be out riding anywhere. Her bigger size and stockier build makes her great for beginner adults looking to perfect their trotting!
Volkswagen - "Volksie"
Volksie is a leopard appaloosa who is our other instructor horse as well as for more intermediate students. She is also Yellow Bug Farms's first broodmare, her 2026 baby should be born in early June!

While we use the word "mustang" as a breed of horse, it is not. The world merely refers to a feral horse. Just like saying a stray cat compared to a house cat, a mustang is the wild counter part to a domesticated horse.
When most people refer to a mustang, they usually mean a BLM mustang which was born in the wild on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), or shortly after a round up in holding. They can always be identified by a freeze brand on their necks. There are other types of mustangs, or wild horses, that are not managed by the BLM such as those that live on Native American reservations, forrest service, and historical sites. These mustangs are not BLM mustangs and will not have a freeze branded. Mustangs can be all colours, shapes, and breeds depending on where they are from, which we refer to as their Herd Management Area or HMA for BLM mustangs. Every HMA has different genetics and heritage background which allows for these very different characteristics. Some mustangs live in the high mountains, some in the forests, while others exist in the harsh deserts! Some mustang herds have lineages starting from conquistador war horses in the 1500’s where as others are 1970’s ranch horses that were not removed from public lands before the Wild Horse and Burro Act went into place.

Why mohair? Well mohair is an incredible cinch fiber due to its amazing abilities to wick moisture which helps prevent sores or skin discomfort, strong elasticity which maintains a perfect fit while your horse is working, and breath ability to keep your horse cooler! This natural material comes in a variety of colours to bring to life any design you can think of! We can make cinches off of current tack colours and designs to complete a set or base it off of inspiration pulled from the internet.
